Termite
Control
All of our termite control is performed using Termidor Termiticide.
Because it works every time!

All termiticides are
tested by the United States Forest Service and must pass stringent tests
before they are approved for general use. As of March 2005, Termidor has
proven 100% effective in all test sites for ten years and continuing.

Termidor was made available for use in
March of 2000. Termidor's effectiveness proved to be simply amazing. New
studies were undertaken throughout the country. These
studies were designed to see if Termidor could be applied in a less
invasive fashion than the standard termite control methods that had been
used for decades.
It
worked!
A new method using Termidor has now been approved. The method
is called PERIMETERPLUSTM
In general, when utilizing
PERIMETERPLUSTM,
we treat the soil against the exterior perimeter foundation of the
structure (the backfill). We treat from the top of the ground down to the
top of the footings or 4 ft., whichever is less. We also perform a
thorough inspection of visible, readily accessible areas to determine the
location of any termite infestation in and on the structure. We then treat
these infested areas following the labeled instructions.

This is a big change
from previous methods. Before PERIMETERPLUSTM,
we had to drill though the floor in basements and slab areas along all
walls. These holes had to be drilled every foot along those walls. This
meant pulling back carpet or drilling through other floor coverings such
as linoleum and tile. After drilling we had to inject termiticide at the
rate of 4 gallons every 10 lineal feet. It also meant drilling into block
foundations every 8 inches so that we could inject termiticide into the
hollow voids within the foundation. With
PERIMETERPLUSTM,
this is only necessary in infested areas.
Prevention
Because Termidor lasts such a long time, prevention is now a sensible
option. If you know or suspect there are termites in your area, it may be
a good idea to beat the termites to the punch. Have us perform a
PERIMETERPLUSTM
treatment to your home or other buildings and get years of protection.
Pretreatments For
Termites
If you are building a new, or adding on to an existing building, you
may want to consider a termite pretreatment. A pretreatment is performed
by treating the soil under a building as the building is being
constructed. We will treat the soil where concrete slabs are to be poured.
We will also treat inside all hollow foundation elements such as hollow
concrete block or brick. After the backfill has been placed against the
foundation, we treat the backfilled soil. This creates a long lasting
barrier to protect the building from termites.
